Schubert & Salzer
10/17/2018

This week I have sat in training with our new valve company Schubert & Salzer.  I attend a lot of these sales meetings / training seminars but this one has been different, refreshing really.  As I sit and listen to the presentations I am invigorated by the knowledge in the room.  Years ago Loy Instrument used to have a significant presence in the valve market but over the years that has waned but that stops today.   After courting Schubert & Salzer for over two years, we have finally got a great valve company back into our fold and we could not be more excited.  The opportunities that this opens for us are awesome!  For us to take our proven process expertise into new and existing markets and provide one more piece of assistance to an industry starved for technical help is exactly what Loy Instrument and our partner Schubert & Salzer get up in the morning to do.
Schubert & Salzer Group, together with its stakes, comprises 14 companies, five of which produce in Germany. The Group’s oldest company has been in existence for 650 years. Schubert & Salzer was founded in 1883. In 1927, Schubert & Salzer erected a foundry with a bell tower in Chemnitz. In its uniqueness this building is among the great architectural landmarks of German industry.
The Schubert & Salzer valve lines that I have been bragging about consist of several types of hardware for specific uses in the industries that we serve.

  • On / Off Valves
  • Globe Valves
  • GS Sliding Gate / Multi-Orifice Valves
  • Ball Sector Valves
  • Sanitary Valves
  • Pinch Valves
  • Manual Valves
  • Associated Positioners
I hate to narrow any of them down but I am most excited about the Sliding Gate / Multi-Orifice Valves.  What attracted me to Schubert & Salzer was these products.  The Schubert & Salzer industry leading benefits are undeniable.  You really have to see it to believe it and these folks are here proving their worth.  Just for starters is the physical size in this technology, fractions of typical globe valves.  The flow coefficients and high-pressure recoveries make this a natural choice.  You do not need a spec sheet to understand the physics at work on this valve design.  The fact that Schubert & Salzer can push cavitation down the pipe in a more laminar flow where the erosion is minimized is a huge step for anyone suffering from unnecessary failures.  So many benefits to talk about and so many products from a company that believes in fast delivery of spectacular products.  Schubert & Salzer we welcome you with open arms into the Loy Instrument fold.  We take a lot of pride in our line card and this company fits our quiver perfectly.
